SS Statendam, Holland-America Line 1930s
Product Description
This image of a cocktail shaker and glasses is from a 1930s ocean liner on the Holland-America line. It shows all the hallmarks of Art Deco design with clean, geometric shapes and striking color.
The cost of Cocktails, Cobblers, Coolers, Egg Nogs, Fixes, Fizzes, Flips, Juleps, Punches, Rickeys, Slings and Sours served to passengers was between 25c and 75c so it must have been a very jolly cruise!
The Holland-America line was founded in Rotterdam in the Netherlands in 1873 and over the years there were three SS Statendams.
We believe this stylish bar menu came from the ship that operated between 1929 and 1940. The last Statendam sailed in 1982.
Holland - America was purchased by Carnival Cruises in 1989.
