Le Pavilion Henri IV, France 1950s Menu Art by Jan Mara
Product Description
Le Pavion Henry IV is a four star hotel overlooking Saint-Germain-en-Laye about 15 miles north of Paris.
The chateau was originally built in 1556 under King Henry II. It was enlarged by Henry IV in 1589 and finally completed in 1603.
The “Sun King” Louis XIV was born here on September 5, 1638.
The artist Jan Mara was born in 1912 and died in 1992. He was famous for his slightly surreal portraits of contemporary showbiz stars and philosophers as well as his humorous creations such as this “giraffe lady” spraying herself over and over.
Underneath her it reads: “Coating and recoating oneself is a pleasure with the “Lancy” perfume.”
Jan Mara’s illustrations were also used by the 3 Michelin Star Paris restaurant Lasserre.
Each order includes a print of the interior menu.
All printed in USA.
