Located on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland, the Inversnaid Hotel still exists and their facilities are much improved from what was offered on this tariff card and menu from the 1880s. Then, guests could have cheap accommodations or pay for extras such as a bath with hot or cold water, a coal fire and even gas lights, since this era preceded the introduction of electricity.  Breakfast, luncheon, dinner and tea, the name for a Scottish meal consumed early in the evening, cost more if you asked for meat. The hotel even had room service for an extra charge of sixpence.
