Tick Tock was a family restaurant opened in 1930 by Art and Helen Johnson. There were eventually two branches – one in Hollywood and the other in Toluca.

For 58 years (the restaurant closed in 1988) the Johnsons enjoyed great success and loyal customers who enjoyed “excellent service, friendly atmosphere, fair and reasonable prices and most of all, the finest quality of food.” Children particularly loved to see and hear all the clocks hanging on the walls that chimed all at the same time.
