Robby's Pancake House, Clearwater 1960s
Product Description
Robby’s Pancake House opened in Clearwater, Florida, in 1962 and served 15 different kinds of pancakes including coconut, corn and buckwheat as well as good old-fashioned buttermilk pancakes.
This entertaining menu cover from the 1960s showed Dads tackling towers of pancakes while a little boy tempts his dog with one and another thinks his pancake might be a flying saucer.
Other Robby’s Pancake Houses opened in Tampa Bay, on Treasure Island and in Spring Hill.
The growth and expansion of fast food chains eventually took its toll on the family-run business in the late 90s and these popular restaurants closed. For a while, the company sold its famous pancake mix at local stores in Florida.
