From the Museum of San Fernando Valley: "In 1945, as World War II came to a close, Otto Nassar opened his restaurant, The Pink Pig in what was then Van Nuys - now, Sherman Oaks, California. The place, which originally looked like a cafe off Route 66, was modest in decor and great in food. The fact that celebrities such as Dorothy Lamour and Bob Hope ate there, when returning from long days on the set in the "country", soon made The Pink Pig a destination place in Los Angeles.

The restaurateur added his name to Otto Nassar's Pink Pig, when he remodeled the place in the late 50's. Located at 4958 Van Nuys Boulevard, a short distance north of Riverside Drive, "The Pig" remained open until 1979."
