Ollie Hammond's Steak Houses were Los Angeles institutions. Open 24 hours and popular with businessmen, actors and families. Legendary newspaper columnist and radio personality Walter Winchell was a regular. Famous for its legendary steaks and burgers it also served one of the finest baked potatoes to be found on the west coast. Oddly, the creator of the map that was the Ollie Hammond's menu cover art has moved downtown Los Angeles to just inland from Long Beach.
