Product Description

Ordering eggs sounds like it was a lot of fun at the Malibu Omelette Parlor in the 1970s and 1980s.

This Willy Wonka-style character points out that light and fluffy omelettes don’t appear by magic – it’s all down to the hardworking birds who lay them.

This intriguing cartoon was on a postcard for the Malibu Omelette Parlor, probably given out as a marketing tool. Hence, there’s no interior menu but we think you can safely say it was all about eggs.

The restaurant was located at 22969 Pacific Coast Highway, opposite the Malibu Pier.

The location is now the event space Aviator Nation Dreamland.

We’re not sure if the Malibu Omelette Parlor was a stand-alone restaurant or if it was connected to the Santa Monica Omelette Parlor on Main Street that closed in 2013 after 37 years. We liked the headline about the closure in the Santa Monica Daily Press at the time, declaring The Omelette Parlor is Toast.

The famous quote ‘if you want to make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs' is attributed to the French writer and philosopher François de Charette.

If anyone remembers the Malibu Omelette Parlor, we’d love to hear from you.
