Hotel Continental, Paris 1890s
Product Description
This witty menu from the late 19th century shows behind-the-scenes views of the restaurant service at a very grand and elegant hotel in Paris. In the kitchen, chefs add seasoning to dishes and struggle with giant lobsters while waiters rush to serve tureens of soup and pop open champagne. Makes us wish we were sitting in that dining room.
We believe The Westin Hotel, at 3 Rue de Castiglione, now occupies the space that was once the splendid Hotel Continental.
