Gladys Little, USA
Product Description
Gladys Little, we assume, is the artist who created this delightful anthropomorphic radish, with the root of the cruciferous vegetable as a rather interesting hairstyle and the leafy greens like an evening gown.
We don’t think this was a menu used in a restaurant. It seems more likely that it was created for a private dinner.
There is no indication when it was created or where the location of this dinner was – it may be that Gladys Little was also the cook.
The radish – its Latin name is Raphanus Sativus- is a small root crop and a member of the Brassicaceae family. Low in calories, it’s a good source of protein, iron and potassium.
Radish greens, the edible top of the vegetable, are a source of magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin K and are commonly eaten as vegetables in China and Korea.
This charming little illustration is everything we like about vintage menu art – it makes us smile and it makes us hungry!
Each order includes a print of the interior menu.
All printed in USA.
