This charming French menu shows miniature chefs hard at work, preparing food for diners in a restaurant kitchen. These fantasy images were popular in Europe at the turn of the 20^th century and this menu is dated 1909.

We don’t know the location of the restaurant but guess it must have been in a major city like Paris since the handwritten menu shows a costly meal, judging by the fine wines on offer which included St Emilion, Chateau Margaux, Pommard and Champagne.
