French Menu Hors D'Oeuvre 1909
This charming French menu shows miniature chefs hard at work, preparing food for diners in a restaurant kitchen. These fantasy images were popular in Europe at the turn of the 20th century and this menu is dated 1909.
We don’t know the location of the restaurant but guess it must have been in a major city like Paris since the handwritten menu shows a costly meal, judging by the fine wines on offer which included St Emilion, Chateau Margaux, Pommard and Champagne.
