"El Chico" was a Spanish restaurant located in the West Village at 80 Grove Street. Describing itself as "New York's most Spanish Restaurant - As Spanish as Spain". The menu cover art is a painting by Luiz Usabal y Hernandez (1876-1937) a Spanish painter and illustrator famous for his postcard and film poster work. El Chico's walls were decorated in colorful murals depicting scenes from Spanish life and they are still on the walls, now behind plexiglas, of long-time club The Monster.
