Dobbs House, Miami Airport 1970
Product Description
This cheerful breakfast menu cover shows a coffee pot that looks like its waving hello and the accompanying coffee cup and egg holder offering smiles to hungry flyers at the Dobbs House chain of airport restaurants.
Dobbs House was founded in Memphis in 1946, just as the Jet Age took flight and more people began flying commercially across the US.
By 1963, Dobbs House was the US’s sixth largest restaurant chain and its locations included 12 airport restaurants, 23 airline catering kitchens, eight Polynesian-themed Luau restaurants, 349 airport snack bar stands and eight motel restaurants. It also operated gift stands in airports from Miami to Memphis.
This vintage menu art cover in sunshine yellow is from the Miami airport branch of Dobbs House and is dated November 1970.
