The Chevron Hotel on St Kilda Road in Melbourne was originally constructed in 1934 and boasted 250 rooms with en-suite facilities as well as garaging for guest's cars The hotel was built in just 18 weeks and ended its life as the ritzy Chevron nightclub hosting the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Sammy Davis Jr and Gregory Peck. The 'Chevy' closed in 2001 but the building still exists and is now known as the Chevron Green Apartments.
