Cathay House, Boston, 1940s
This Boston hotspot featured Chicago Chicken Chow Mein. All meals over a dollar were subject to the Massachusetts Old Age Tax of 5%, which helped pay for pensions across the Commonwealth State. 70 Beach Street in Boston has long been home to Chinese restaurants like the current Hot Pot Buffet.
