"Kindly Refrain from Dancing in the Dining Room unless Properly Attired", says this 1944 menu from Casa Seville, Long Island, New York. Even if patrons were not as glamorously dressed as this couple on the front cover, it must have been a place where patrons put on their best outfits and had fun. There were two nightly shows that featured bands and other entertainers, and this was where many couples held their wedding receptions.
