Product Description
These cocktail images were created shortly after the repeal of Prohibition in December 1933 in the state of New York, hence their celebratory air. Everyone is a little tipsy, including Manhattan’s newest skyscraper, the Empire State Building, which had been completed in 1931. The drawings come from a drinks menu from the Hotel Manteo in Cold Spring, New York and are a fine example of imaginative vintage menu artwork. The McCaffrey family ran this establishment from the early 1900s until 1978. The original building is still there and is now occupied by a bar called Whistling Willies.
100% cotton tea-towel printed in UK.
