Brandy Cocktail 1930s Matchbook Cover
Product Description
This delightful 1930s cocktail image cover shows the ingredients for a brandy cocktail.
There’s a flirty sugar cube using the rim of the glass as a catwalk, two drops of bitters about to dive into the cool depths of the glass, three ice cubes sitting on the edge and waiting to plunge in too and tiny red lipstick kiss just inside the lemon peel. Great fun.
The interior image shows the recipe for the brandy cocktail as well as recipes for a 19th hole cocktail, a dry martini and a Liberty cocktail.
These images were on matchbooks, handed out in bars across the US as marketing material during an era when many people smoked cigarettes.
After the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, when it was possible to drink alcohol in public, there was huge interest in cocktails. Recipes for the perfect drink were often given to tempt people into bars or to buy booze to make cocktails at home.
Each order includes a print of the inside of the matchbooks
All printed in USA.
