Product Description
A beautifully detailed illustrative map of San Francisco is the front cover of this menu from The Golden Pheasant restaurant.
Established in 1896, The Golden Pheasant was a popular landmark in downtown San Francisco for more than half a century.
Its most famous proprietor was J John Eppinger, a gold prospector and grain shipper who came to San Francisco in 1906, the year of the Great Fire. He bought a share in the property and then expanded it into a restaurant and bakery.
After Eppinger died, the restaurant went through various owners before closing completely.
