Tables are turned in this witty French menu from 1954 in which a lobster rises out of a dish and attacks a chef with his own tasting spoon.
It is possibly from a ‘housewarming’ banquet for a new restaurant in Rouen, a city on the River Seine in northern France and the capital of the region of Normandy, or perhaps for the first night on board a cruise ship leaving this busy inland French port.
