The Café de Paris was one of the most elegant restaurants in Buenos Aires in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was originally a "men only" establishment. Bird and game hunting was a popular pastime for the wealthy, hence the theme of this menu cover. The restaurant was also a popular destination for bankers and businessmen and spectacular wines were served at lunch and dinner including Chateau Yquem, Chateau Branne Mouton (which became Chateau Mouton Rothschild), Beaune and Pommery champagne.
