The Wonton section features "Yat gaw mein" soup, more commonly spelled as Yaka Mein, is a classic beef noodle soup that is a signature dish of Creole cuisine in New Orleans. It is often called "Old Sober" due to its reputation as a hangover cure.

Yaka Mein is a unique fusion of Chinese and New Orleanian culinary traditions, believed to have originated from Chinese immigrants in the mid-1800s or African American soldiers returning from war. The name itself is Cantonese for "one portion of noodles".  The soup typically consists of a rich, savory beef broth served over noodles (often spaghetti) and garnished with various ingredients.

The soup is often served with condiments like soy sauce, hot sauce, or even ketchup, allowing individuals to customize the flavor to their preference. It is popular as street food at second line parades in New Orleans and is widely cherished in the local African-American community.
